BIO
Daniel Hebert was born in 1960 in Gonzales, Louisiana, just
outside of Baton Rouge.
He began woodworking with his father when he was just 10
years old, helping his father with various pieces of furniture.
As a teenager, he chose a different path, and became a machinist,
learning to wield various metals. Daniel still has an active
interest in working with metals, and he is working on combining
the two media.
After moving to his current home in Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel
returned to his roots and began working with woods once again.
A self-taught artist and woodworker, he learned about different
exotic wood
varieties,
and the more he found out, the more he became excited
about making beautiful furniture using the various woods.
His machinist background also helps Daniel with the exacting
nature of furniture creation.
Daniel works alone in his studio/workshop in
Canton, a suburb
of Atlanta. He finds that working alone allows him a continuity
and clarity of vision which endures in his pieces from concept
to completion.
